West Point Gold Drills 66.2m of 6.57 g/t Gold — Shares Surge 10% as a World-Class Resource Takes Shape

VANCOUVER, BC – June 23, 2026 – As a featured company in The Resource Vault, West Point Gold Corp. (TSX-V: WPG | OTCQX: WPGCF) just delivered one of the most significant drill results in its history — and the market responded immediately. WPG shares jumped 10% on the day of the announcement, a powerful vote of confidence from investors who recognize that what is emerging at the Gold Chain Project in Arizona is beginning to look like something genuinely extraordinary.

Hole GC26-148 intersected 66.2 metres of 6.57 g/t gold from 219 metres downhole, including 20.7 metres of 18.25 g/t gold — among the broadest and highest-grade intercepts ever drilled at the NE Tyro Zone. More importantly, this step-out hole extended known high-grade mineralization beyond 250 metres below surface, and the zone remains open at depth and along strike. With 21 holes and 6,550 metres of assays still pending, the best may be yet to come.

True widths are approximately 55% of downhole widths. One sample within the high-grade zone (Sample No. 2246) returned 62.7 g/t Au over 1.73 metres.

“This drill hole indicates that the high grades at NE Tyro continue to depth and this zone will remain open following the upcoming maiden resource,” said Derek Macpherson, President & CEO. “This result, coupled with those that are pending, suggests that deeper drilling at Tyro will resume with the funded Fall 2026 to Spring 2027 drill program.”

The Geology: Why This Looks Like a World-Class System

The results from GC26-148 are not just numerically impressive — the geology described by the Company’s technical team is the kind that gets experienced mining geologists excited. The NE Tyro vein is a robust, uniform vein system dipping 70–75 degrees to the southeast, ranging from 10 to 35 metres in true width. The high-grade core is hosted in a multi-stage quartz-calcite breccia complex — the same structural setting found in some of the world’s most prolific epithermal gold deposits.

Critically, the breccia and surrounding damage zone at depth appear to be widening, not narrowing. The presence of bladed calcite textures, crustiform banding, and fluidal breccia — all hallmarks of deep fluid boiling — suggests the system is becoming more energetic at depth, not less. These are the geological signatures of a deposit that has the potential to grow substantially with continued drilling.

With a known mineralized strike of the NE Tyro Zone already demonstrating continuity at depth, and seven additional holes with pending assays drilled below 250 metres, the upcoming Maiden Resource Estimate (MRE) will capture only a fraction of what this system may ultimately contain.

Why This Matters: A 10% Move on a Single Drill Hole

A 10% single-day move in a junior mining stock is not unusual when a company hits. What makes West Point Gold’s June 23rd performance notable is the context: this was not a company making its first discovery. This was confirmation that a system already known to host bonanza-grade gold (the project has previously returned intercepts up to 39.1 g/t Au) is larger, deeper, and more continuous than the market had priced in.

This is the compounding effect of a genuine discovery in progress. Each positive drill result does not just add ounces — it raises the probability that the final resource will be something significantly larger than the current market capitalization implies. At approximately $120 million USD in market cap with a Maiden Resource Estimate due later in 2026 and a fully funded fall/winter drill program already planned, West Point Gold is approaching a series of catalysts that could fundamentally re-rate the stock.

At The Resource Vault, we selected West Point Gold precisely because of this dynamic: a world-class address (the Walker Lane Trend has produced some of North America’s most significant gold deposits), bonanza-grade drill results, and a management team with the technical credibility and financial backing to keep the drills turning. Results like GC26-148 validate that thesis.

The Resource Vault Perspective

The NE Tyro Zone is not yet in a resource. The Maiden Resource Estimate expected later in 2026 will be the first formal quantification of what the drills have been finding — and based on the intercepts to date, including today’s result, it has the potential to be a market-moving number. Seven additional holes drilled below 250 metres are still awaiting assays, meaning there is a meaningful pipeline of news flow between now and the MRE publication.

For investors, the setup is compelling: a high-grade, expanding gold system in a top-tier U.S. jurisdiction, trading at a market cap that does not yet reflect the scale of what is emerging underground. The 10% move on June 23rd is a preview of what re-rating events can look like when the resource starts to be formally defined.
